Sustainability

At Fremlin Walk, protecting the planet is more than goal - it’s a commitment.

We’re constantly working to reduce our environmental impact and support a greener future, with ongoing efforts that put sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

Keep scrolling to find out more.

Sustainability

We have several initiatives that showcase our commitment to the planet and encourage eco-friendly practices. Here are just a few examples:

We’ve installed a green roof that features beehives, which play a critical role in our ecosystem. We’re delighted to support the bees by providing a home and habitat for them. The beehives were introduced by a local beekeeper, who maintains them on a regular basis.

Sustainability

Additionally, we’ve planted a living green Sedum roof with low-growing succulent plants for our bees as well planters on the roof of our public toilets.

Sedum roofs create a great habitat for minibeasts such as beetles and spiders, they provide food for butterflies and seed-eating birds and the spent flower stalks supply nesting material for feathered friends.

The low-growing succulent plants help with rainwater management as a green roof can absorb up to 80% of rainfall and then release it slowly.

Sustainability

We also recycle our coffee grounds and repurpose them in our planters and green spaces with the help of our gardener.

Coffee grounds are an excellent fertilizer, and by reusing them at our centre, we’re reducing our waste and contributing to a more sustainable future.

In collaboration with a local school, we also installed insect houses to provide a home for essential insects in our planted area on Havoc Square.

Sustainability

We use chemical-free cleaning methods such as Aqua Smart for a healthier environment.

Our sensor-activated LED lights help to minimise energy consumption.

We are also dedicated to maintain that zero of our waste goes to landfill.
